The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red … Continue reading Discerning the Signs of The Times
Bible Studies
For the past year the Lord has been having me write chronological studies of books of the New Testament. And I have been keeping those in collections on my computer by books of the Bible. My husband has encouraged me to create a new category and subcategories for those who might want to read these particular studies by book. Each one is from my personal devotions and they may not cover every verse or every chapter, and they might be in reverse order by chapter since that is the order in which they were posted, i.e. the last will appear first. This is a work in progress, so this may take me a while to recategorize and retag each post. I hope and pray this is beneficial to you.
Pray Unselfishly
What is prayer? As a child I learned prayer as ACTS = adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. So it should not all be just asking God for something. And it is not a one-way conversation with God to where we do all the talking, and he does all the listening, and to where it is … Continue reading Pray Unselfishly
Judging Unjustly
“You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly. You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the Lord.” … Continue reading Judging Unjustly
Loving One Another
“You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord. You are to keep … Continue reading Loving One Another
Leading You Into Futility
Thus says the Lord of hosts,“Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; They speak a vision of their own imagination,Not from the mouth of the Lord.“They keep saying to those who despise Me,‘The Lord has said, “You will have peace”’;And as for everyone who … Continue reading Leading You Into Futility
Nowhere to Hide from God
“’Can a man hide himself in hiding places so I do not see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:24 NASB1995) The land is full of adulterers. Their course is evil, and their might is not right. Prophet and priest and pastor are polluted. … Continue reading Nowhere to Hide from God
Shepherds Scattering the Sheep
“’Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!’ declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: ‘You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to … Continue reading Shepherds Scattering the Sheep
Love Versus Hate
“Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the … Continue reading Love Versus Hate
