War, politics, lies, betrayal, the murdering of innocents, our young men and women in uniform dying on a battle field via men of power; takeovers of nations, riots and lawlessness, sin abounding, the church asleep or complacent for the most part; the gospel diluted, and do we even notice? Through all that is going on … Continue reading For Our Nation
Do you ever have days when it seems everything is a challenge? Simple tasks that should not have glitches, have glitches in them. Everything seems to take much longer than it should. Complications set in. Things fall apart. Communications break down. Physically speaking, it is not one of your better days. You cry easily. And, … Continue reading When I Was Walking
On November 27, 2019, the Lord Jesus gave me a poem to write entitled, “You Loved Me.” So, I posted it on the internet. Then, one of my fellow Christian bloggers and friend, Tosin, read the poem. And, she responded to it with a tune for the poem, so it could become a song. God … Continue reading You Loved Me (Song)
“The Spirit Calling” is a new song, completed today. And, it isn’t just about the Holy Spirit calling people to faith in Jesus Christ. But, the song is about the Spirit calling us who believe in Jesus to closer walks with our Lord. He is calling us to daily walks of faith and surrender to … Continue reading The Spirit Calling
This morning I feel led to reblog this post from August of 2018. My other site, "Walking Wounded," was not allowing me to reblog it, though, and maybe that is because I had done that a year ago. So, I think I will just copy and paste it here. Perhaps there is someone this morning … Continue reading Broken Cord
This is a new song, which is a 4-part harmony hymn that the Lord gave me to write. This song, just like the others, is not for entertainment purposes, though. The singer is me, and I have an old voice that comes, and it goes. So, don’t listen for a great sound or recording, or … Continue reading Being Made Right
An Original Work / June 17, 2019 Jesus, our Savior, reigneth forever; Mighty in power, His name we honor. He’s our refuge from all evil. God our righteous, He’s our fill. He satisfies us with all His blessings. We magnify Him. Our praise to Him sing. Glory and honor, praise to the Father, Perfect in … Continue reading Mighty in Power
An Original Work / June 11, 2019 Based off Psalm 46 God’s our refuge. He is our strength, A present help to us when in pain. Therefore, we will not be afraid, Although the earth beneath us gives way. Though the mountains be moved to the sea, Roaring waters abound so free, And the mountains … Continue reading God is With Us
About a week ago Tosin, of Alethea’s Mind Blog, wrote a poem which she believed was to be a song, so she put out an appeal for someone to come up with a tune for her song. And, then she asked me, and the Lord led me to do that, although I had never written a tune for someone else before. And, the Lord gave me a tune for her song, and she accepted it. And, then we worked together for a week putting it all together.
It was wonderful working with Tosin on this song, too. Her grace, her patience, her understanding with me, as we tweaked and changed the lyrics around here and there, speaks volumes about her character, her love for Jesus, and her desire to please him in all that she does and is as a child of God and a believer in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Tosin! You have blessed my life!!
Do you remember the post A Tune For A Song? If I must confess, it wasn’t a post I had planned to write, but as I look back, I see God’s leading hand steering me to do the things that align me with His blessings.
Pondering on the song, I was half expecting anyone to come back to me saying they had a tune, but in the wait, the Lord put in my heart the name of someone I follow here on WordPress. Sue Love. I had seen and listened to original songs the Lord had given her which she shares on her posts, so I understood why He would send me to her. Now here is one thing: I did not know much about her apart from the things she has shared about herself on her blog, but one thing I was certain of is her desire to follow…

So, four days ago the Lord Jesus led me to begin to write a new song. Now, that is not a simple task, even for a song that is home recorded, or especially for a song that is amateurishly home recorded, whatever the case may be. For, this one took four days to write from … Continue reading Unshakably
