Bible Studies
For the past year the Lord has been having me write chronological studies of books of the New Testament. And I have been keeping those in collections on my computer by books of the Bible. My husband has encouraged me to create a new category and subcategories for those who might want to read these particular studies by book. Each one is from my personal devotions and they may not cover every verse or every chapter, and they might be in reverse order by chapter since that is the order in which they were posted, i.e. the last will appear first. This is a work in progress, so this may take me a while to recategorize and retag each post. I hope and pray this is beneficial to you.
He Humbled Their Hearts
“There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death,Prisoners in misery and chains,Because they had rebelled against the words of GodAnd spurned the counsel of the Most High. Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was none to help. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved … Continue reading He Humbled Their Hearts
What is Holding You Back?
“Bless the Lord, O my soul,And all that is within me, bless His holy name.2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,And forget none of His benefits;3 Who pardons all your iniquities,Who heals all your diseases;4 Who redeems your life from the pit,Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;5 Who satisfies your years with good things,So … Continue reading What is Holding You Back?
The Harlot is a Deep Pit
“Give me your heart, my son,And let your eyes delight in my ways. For a harlot is a deep pitAnd an adulterous woman is a narrow well.Surely she lurks as a robber,And increases the faithless among men.” (Proverbs 23:26-28 NASB1995) So many people today who have professed faith in Jesus Christ, and who purportedly have parted … Continue reading The Harlot is a Deep Pit
Don’t Envy Sinners
“Do not let your heart envy sinners,But live in the fear of the Lord always.Surely there is a future,And your hope will not be cut off.Listen, my son, and be wise,And direct your heart in the way.Do not be with heavy drinkers of wine,Or with gluttonous eaters of meat; For the heavy drinker and the glutton … Continue reading Don’t Envy Sinners
His Heart is Not with You
“When you sit down to dine with a ruler,Consider carefully what is before you,And put a knife to your throatIf you are a man of great appetite.Do not desire his delicacies,For it is deceptive food.” “Do not eat the bread of a selfish man,Or desire his delicacies; For as he thinks within himself, so he is.He … Continue reading His Heart is Not with You
Being Conformed to Christ’s Death
“But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but … Continue reading Being Conformed to Christ’s Death
Minds Set on Earthly Things
“Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory … Continue reading Minds Set on Earthly Things
