3 Day Quote Challenge, Day 1

I want to thank Amy for nominating me for the 3 Day Quote Challenge. Amy is a new blogger who writes about addiction, raising children, and the Lord Jesus and his love, among other things. She writes as a personal outlet, as well as she writes to encourage other believers in Jesus Christ in their walks of faith. We all need encouragement, so thank you, Amy.

Day One, Quote #1

“The sovereign God wants to be loved for Himself and honored for Himself, but that is only part of what He wants. The other part is that He wants us to know that when we have Him we have everything – we have all the rest.”
– A. W. Tozer

Our Lord did not save us from our sins just for ourselves. He died that we might no longer live for ourselves, but for him who gave his life up for us. When he becomes our Savior, he also becomes our Lord, which means he is our owner-master, and we belong to Him.

When he died on that cross so many years ago, he redeemed us (bought us back) for God with his shed blood. Thus, we are no longer our own, for we were bought with a price, therefore we are to honor God with our lives.

He “gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds” (Tit. 2:14).

To be in a relationship with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – means our lives are given over to him, we love him, we serve him, we want to obey him, and we want to be like him. But, it also means that we are saved from slavery to sin, we are forgiven our sins, and we have new lives in Jesus. Thus, we can walk in victory, he is our healer, and he is our comforter and counselor, etc. We are not lacking in any good thing, for our God will supply all that we need.

Now I would like to nominate Jessy for the 3 Day Quote Challenge. I like Jessy’s openness and honesty, her sincerity in love for Jesus, and how she makes the truths of scripture so practical and applicable to our daily lives.

The rules of this challenge are as follows:

Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

For 3 days, provide a quote each day and why you like or chose that quote.

Nominate one or more bloggers each of the three days for the Challenge and then send them a comment letting them know they have been nominated.

(When you receive a nomination, if you’re too busy, you can do it later if need be.)
