For our Lord to possess us we must first yield control of our lives over to him, die with him to sin, and now live to him and to his righteousness, by his grace and in his strength and power. We must consider our lives to no longer be our own to do with what we want, but we must consider ourselves dead to sin and to self and surrendered to God to do his will.
Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Luke 9:23-26; Ephesians 4:17-24; Romans 12:1-2, etc.
Words so sweet, especially: “…and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession…” Come posses me dear Savior.
