Has this world now gone crazy?
All things seem now so hazy.
The truth and lies a mixture,
And not a clear good picture.
The news for entertainment,
Not much is in containment.
The wilder now the stories,
From drama to the gory.
Cannot believe the stories.
For who’s to get the glory?
Much now is in concealment.
Much now is not prevented.
So, drama, drama, drama,
Nirvana and Madonna,
The TV screen awaiting
The shows that they are dating.
The internet at fingers.
The lusts of flesh the triggers.
Addiction at its highest,
Among those who are brightest.
The gospel now diluted,
To please those who refute it.
The people now persuaded
The lies which they once hated.
It’s all now so confusing.
It seems a big delusion.
It’s all mixed all together,
The crazier the better?
So we need now to focus
Not on the hocus pocus,
But on the truth in Bible,
And pray for a revival.

The only thing I would add to this excellent piece is about the dangers of AI. It’s a useful tool, but a terrible idol. Many Christian blogger now seem to simply copy and paste AI generated content- what’s the point of that? I’m not accusing you of that, and I’ll stop ranting now. Thank you for your challenging and convicting poem!

Robert, thank you for your kind and thoughtful response. Glory to God! Yes, AI does have some advantages, but it can be a pitfall for many who rely on it to tell them the truth rather than them searching truth for themselves and following the teachings of Christ. We become mindless people when we let AI do our thinking for us, and that is a huge danger for many who are doing just that. But it isn’t all bad. We just need to be discerning people who test what we read and hear to make certain it is truth, and we should not let robots replace our human minds. Sue

AI isn’t all bad, but it’s not spiritual. We should go to the Bible prayerfully to God to reveal its truth by his Holy Spirit, rather than lazily and erroneously copying and pasting from AI. I know I’m preaching to the converted here! 🙂

I agree! We should never go to AI to get our truth in place of getting our truth straight from the Scriptures. AI can be used as a tool like a dictionary or an encyclopedia, but we must not depend on it to tell us the truth. For example, I might Google a question about Scriptures which teach on particular subjects and AI will come up with a list of Scriptures, which then I go read for myself to see if they are ones that are speaking on the subject I am looking into. But sorry to hear that people are using AI to be the Scriptures for them or to be their own minds.
