Revelation 18:1-5 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory. 2And he cried out in a mighty voice:

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
She has become a lair for demons
and a haunt for every unclean spirit,
every unclean bird,
and every detestable beast.
3All the nations have drunk the wine
of the passion of her immorality.
The kings of the earth were immoral with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy
from the extravagance of her luxury.”
4Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“Come out of her, My people,
so that you will not share in her sins
or contract any of her plagues.
5For her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.

Babylon The Great

Who is this “Babylon the Great”? There are many different thoughts floating out there on that subject. But this is what I believe the Lord has shown me. In one specific location, I believe she represents the USA, more specifically the US government, including the institutional market-driven “churches” of today which are partnered with the world and with the government (state) in an unholy union, which God forbids. She is morally unclean, rejecting the gospel of Christ in its fulness, and she leads others to join in her immorality.

She is the harlot who “rides the beast.” And I believe she is primarily the government of the USA who serves the beast, the beast who is the de facto government of the USA, and not the supposed “elected” officials within our government. The Beast, I believe, is comprised of the wealthy and powerful people of the world who are the ones truly running the world and my nation. And the US government (the harlot) serves the beast in helping to bring the whole world into a one world totalitarian regime, which is not of the people.

Come Out of Her!

So when this instructs us to “come out of her,” this is not saying we should move to another country, if we live in the USA. But this is about coming out from underneath her influence, not getting caught up in the whole political “left and right” thing, which is a mirage. For political left and right are on the same team just “playing the people” with their act/game. And collectively they serve the same “Beast,” i.e. the wealthy and powerful of the world who are taking over the world. So we should not support her in any way.

But this isn’t just on a political level. The majority of what are called “churches” today are incorporated (merged, partnered) with the state (the government) and they are marketing their “churches” to the people of the world in order to draw in large crowds of people from the world into their gatherings, all of which God forbids. Therefore, the US government has much influence over these “churches” and have convinced most of them to reject the biblical gospel and to embrace a false gospel in its place.

But the influence of this harlot (Babylon the great) stretches far and wide across the world into other nations, many of whom have embraced her immorality and dirty dealings and crooked ways. So you don’t have to live in the USA to be under her influence. And so much of “the gospel” which was spread to other nations, as well, was/is not the biblical gospel, but it is a diluted and cheapened version of the true gospel which is allowing “believers” to continue in sin without obedience to God, which is wrong.

So, our Lord is calling out to all who profess faith in the Lord Jesus who are under her influence to come out from underneath the influence of “the harlot” so that they do not share in her sins and in her punishment. And he is calling all who profess his name to not partner with this “harlot” and with the world and with the worldly government, but to come out from among them and to be separate, and the Lord will receive them. We should not partner with these market-driven institutional “churches” not of God.

Walking in The Light

When I lift up my voice, and sing praise unto God,
I will fellowship with my Lord and Savior, King.
In Him there is no darkness. He is in the light of truth.
If we walk in His light, from sin He purifies.

If we repent of our sins, He’ll forgive us now,
When we humble ourselves, and before Jesus bow.
The man who says, “I know Him,” but does not obey His truth,
There is no truth in him. In darkness still he’s found.

Do not love the world of sin, for it is hell bound.
If you follow the world, you’ll not in Christ be found.
The world and its desires will not last; they’ll expire.
The one who does God’s will, receives eternal life.

See that what you have heard from Christ remains in you.
Then, you’ll remain in Christ, and in His Father, too.
This is what He promised us – His eternal life with God.
So, continue in Him, and you’ll receive a crown.
