Genesis 11:1-9 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

1Now the whole world had one language and a common form of speech. 2And as people journeyed eastward, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” So they used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of mortar. 4“Come,” they said, “let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.”

5Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building. 6And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them. 7Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” 8So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.

In Our World Today

As I contemplated what this might look like in our world today I was reminded of the One World Trade Center building located in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States, which replaced the two World Trade Center buildings which were destroyed on September 11, 2001. The building in total height is 1776 feet tall, which includes a spire of 408 feet at the top of the building. It is the 7th tallest building in the world and it is the tallest building in the USA. And, according to our history books, 1776 is the year that the United States of America became an independent nation.

The Spire

Back in 2013, when the spire was in the process of being placed at the top of the One World Trade Center building, the Lord led me to write about the spire. I didn’t know what a spire was, so I looked it up. Now my resources back then may not be what they are today, for I used Wikipedia, and those articles don’t always remain the same. And the internet has also changed so much since back then. Thus, information which appeared so readily available back then is harder to find today. So all I can do is share what I discovered back then. But right now I am looking up “spire” in the MW Dictionary.

So, a spire is a pinnacle which is “the highest point of development or achievement.” Interesting! Other words such as this are “summit, peak, climax, apex, acme, and culmination (which means finale, termination, end). That is also interesting, since this is on top of the “One World Tower.” And what does “one world” remind you of? And what I read in 2013 said that “Symbolically spires have two functions. The first is to proclaim a martial power. The second is to reach up toward the skies.” And a spire on top of a “church” is “a symbol of the wealth and prestige of the order.” Interesting!

The One World Order

This sounds a whole lot like the One World Order which is presently taking over the world, one nation at a time. And that definitely fits with “martial power” and with “a symbol of the wealth and prestige of the order,” for it is the wealthy and powerful people of the world who are bringing the nations of this world into this One World Order of The Beast; into this new “Tower of Babel” which God will one day destroy. And the USA serves this “beast” as “the harlot” who rides the beast who is taking down one nation at a time. Interesting that our presidents literally ride in a vehicle called “The Beast.”

Anyway, although God let us know in advance that these things would take place, and although He has allowed for this “rule of the beast” to come upon us, the people of the world, once God accomplishes His purposes in letting this happen, (which I believe is God’s judgment on the people of the world, but which I believe will lead many to faith in Jesus Christ and to repentance and to obedience to God before they are killed for their faith in Jesus Christ), He will punish the beast and its one world order, and God/Jesus will judge the people of the earth, and God’s faithful ones will go to be with Jesus.

The Gospel Message

So we need to be spiritually prepared for what is coming upon us, the people of the world, for the signs of the times are all over everywhere we look these days. For Jesus Christ taught that to come to Him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) Him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to His commands, in His power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

Living Water

My people have forsaken Me,
Their Savior, who died on a tree;
Made idols, and they worshipped them;
So empty, they will ne’er fulfill.

Lord, You are the hope of Your chosen ones.
Those who turn away from You will be shamed;
The Spring of Living Water left behind.

Living Water satisfies.

The thirsty, let them come and drink;
Believe in Jesus as their King;
The gift of Jesus given them,
So they will never thirst again.

Indeed, the Living Water flows within.
It springs up like a fountain cleansing sin.
Eternal life in heaven promised them.

Living Water glorifies.

Oh people, won’t you come to Him?
Obey Him and repent of sin.
Let Jesus come and live within.
Surrender all your life to Him.

My people, won’t you turn your hearts to Me?
Forsake your idols and then you’ll be free.
Won’t you come now to Me on bended knee?

Living Water sanctifies.
