Christian Persecution Today

Revelation 6:9-11 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

“9And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld. 10And they cried out in a loud voice, ‘How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge those who dwell upon the earth and avenge our blood?’ 11Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.”

Christians have been being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ and many of them have been murdered (put to death) for their testimonies for Jesus Christ ever since Jesus died that horrible death on a cross at the hands of His persecutors who wanted Him dead. So this has been going on for nearly 2000 years. And not all of this is being told to us in the news, or if it is, not all of it is being presented to us truthfully for what it is and/or for who is behind it. Much of this is being disguised under false premises, I believe.

In the USA we don’t generally have the same kinds of Christian persecution as they have going on in other nations where the Christians are being mass murdered, at least not yet. Most of us are not running for our lives, being forced out of our homes, chasing bullets, and hiding underground, etc. For the majority of our population identify as Christians, somewhere in-between 62% and 69%, according to statistics. But the numbers are much less for those who are actually practicing Christians, obeying God’s commands.

But this doesn’t mean that Christians in the USA are not under any kind of persecution at all. Some definitely are, but especially those who are very serious about their walks of faith with the Lord who are verbal about their testimonies for Christ and who are actively sharing the biblical truth of the gospel of Christ in opposition to the lies being rapidly spread in the name of Christ and in the name of the gospel of our salvation. We who expose the lies being spread are under some kind of persecution and rejection.

For what appears to be the majority of professing Christians in the USA, most seem to be embracing a half-truth diluted and altered gospel message being taught by men who are being taught marketing schemes and what to do to entertain the people and to attract the world to their gatherings. Thus they are also being trained in teaching Scriptures out of context to make them say what they do not say if taught in the correct biblical context. And they are not insisting on death to sin and obedience to God’s commands.

And so the messages they teach are the “feel-good” kind that people like to hear, and so most of them ignore or even teach against the teachings on biblical repentance, dying to sin, and obeying God in life practice. For the “feel-good” messages are what draw in the people of the world, not the messages which teach that we must give up our lives of living in sin and we must now obey God’s commands and live holy lives, pleasing to God, or we don’t have salvation from sin nor eternal life guaranteed us upon death.

But, if you reject the “feel-good” messages which are catering to people in their sin rather than teaching them the necessity of repentance and obedience to God, and if you are verbal about it in the congregation of the church, don’t be surprised if you get invited to dilute the gospel or to get invited out of such gatherings. And don’t be surprised if you do not have large followings of people on the internet and/or if those closest to you do not support what you are doing or they are actually verbally against it.

I do believe it will not be long before Christian persecution is on the rise here in the USA where we will begin to be censored in what we are allowed to speak on or to not speak on. It is in the air. We can feel it coming, I believe. And the way things are going on in our nation and in the world at large, I believe it is not long before we are going to be fully under the rule of the beast and then we will be severely persecuted and put to death for our testimonies for Christ. And one day it will all be over when Jesus returns.

Blessed are you when you’re persecuted
Because of your faith in Jesus Christ.
Blessed are you when people insult you,
And falsely say what leads folks to doubt.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is
Great in the heavens. You’re not alone.

When you are persecuted in one place,
Flee to another. God will be there.
You will be hated by all the nations
Because you testify of God’s grace.
Many will seize you and persecute you,
And put to death the foll’wers of Christ.

Yet do not fear what humans may do to you,
For I’m with you all through the night.
I tell you, love your enemies with my love,
And forgive as I forgave you.
Pray for those who do evil against you.
Rest in my love and grace from above.
