Revelation 13:6-10 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

“6And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to slander His name and His tabernacle—those who dwell in heaven. 7Then the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. 8And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain.

“9He who has an ear, let him hear:
10’If anyone is destined for captivity,
into captivity he will go;
if anyone is to die by the sword,
by the sword he must be killed.’
Here is a call for the perseverance and faith of the saints.”

Who is The Beast?

Who is this “beast”? There are many different opinions on that subject. I believe he is the wealthy and powerful people of the world who are bringing this world of ours into a One World Totalitarian Regime, one step at a time. And I believe the US government serves this beast in the position of “the harlot” who rides the beast. Interestingly enough, the vehicle which our presidents ride in is called “The Beast.” And literally our government has been serving this beast for quite some time doing their dirty work for them.

War Against the Saints

In these final days before the return of our Lord, God will permit this beast to wage war against the saints of God and to conquer them. And those who are called “saints” are God’s holy ones, the morally pure and upright who are dedicated to service to the Lord in walks of obedience to His commands in holy living. We are those who are called of God to come out from the world and to live holy lives pleasing to God. We are those who God is molding into His likeness that He might use us to reach other people for Jesus Christ.

So, for the beast to overcome us is not about conquering us spiritually, but conquering us physically to the death. The saints of God will be martyred for their walks of faith in obedience to the Lord during this time of tribulation to come upon the earth when this beast rules over the people of the earth. I personally believe this is already in the works and it won’t be much longer before we see the reality of this taking place in our day and time. If we are paying close attention, I believe we can see the signs of the times at work.

A False Allegiance

In the USA, where I live, I think it is a little more subtle than what it is in some other nations which are being taken down by this “beast.” We are not yet being conquered so much physically, as are other nations, but we are being taken down, as a nation, mentally, morally, and spiritually. So many people in my nation, and I was once one of them, have been brain washed by our government and the news media and by some pastors of “churches” to accept the lies as truth and to reject the truth as “conspiracy theories.”

From early childhood I grew up being taught that I must, with hand over heart, pledge (vow) my allegiance (fidelity) to the US government and to sing patriotic songs of worship of the US government and to regard our military as our heroes and as our “saviors” who were keeping our nation safe from “the bad guys.” And I was taught this in public school and in the church gatherings. And I did this until God opened my eyes to see the wrongness of this 20+ years ago. Then I could no longer participate in this hypocrisy.

Worship God Only!

For God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit – is the only one to whom I am to give my worship. But all of us who worship God only and who say “No” to “the beast” will be persecuted. And some of us will be put to death for our obedience to God and because we would not bow to the beast. We are already being persecuted just if we say “No” to the false “church” which is partnered with the government and with the world, and “No” to a false “gospel,” not of God but which is a creation of man to appease the flesh.

So here is definitely a call for the perseverance and faith of the saints of God who have died with Christ to sin and who are now living for the Lord in walks of surrender to Him in obedience to His commands. For the closer our walks of faith to our Lord become, the more others will reject us and will persecute us, and they will want nothing to do with us because we are just too weird for them. For “Christianity” in the USA, at large, has become so worldly. And so many are teaching a false gospel which does not teach repentance and obedience to God’s commands as necessary components of believing faith.

Blessed are you when you’re persecuted
Because of your faith in Jesus Christ.
Blessed are you when people insult you,
And falsely say what leads folks to doubt.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is
Great in the heavens. You’re not alone.

When you are persecuted in one place,
Flee to another. God will be there.
You will be hated by all the nations
Because you testify of God’s grace.
Many will seize you and persecute you,
And put to death the foll’wers of Christ.

Yet do not fear what humans may do to you,
For I’m with you all through the night.
I tell you, love your enemies with my love,
And forgive as I forgave you.
Pray for those who do evil against you.
Rest in my love and grace from above.
