They Denounce The True Gospel

Jeremiah 18:18-20 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

18Then some said, “Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an oracle to the prophet. Come, let us denounce him and pay no heed to any of his words.”

19Attend to me, O LORD.
Hear what my accusers are saying!
20Should good be repaid with evil?
Yet they have dug a pit for me.
Remember how I stood before You
to speak good on their behalf,
to turn Your wrath from them.

They Denounce the Scriptures

There is a present plot in motion to silence those who are biblical and true messengers of God, which includes the teachings of the Scriptures taught in their correct biblical context. We have many charlatans and “wolves in sheep’s clothing” among us who are working to discredit the gospel message taught by Jesus and by His New Testament apostles, and by all the Lord’s messengers today who are holding fast to the truths of the gospel of Christ and of our salvation from sin resulting in eternal life for those who obey God.

And these false teachers are using a cheapened form of “the gospel” to coverup the true gospel of Christ, to make it to where it can’t be heard. They do this by convincing the masses that the truth is a lie and that the lie which they are spreading is the truth. So the primary messenger of God they are denouncing today is not one single individual, but it is the biblical message of the gospel of Christ as a whole as taught by Jesus and His apostles, which they call a lie, and while they spread their lies as though they are truth.

Cheapened Grace

The grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. The grace of God sent Jesus Christ to the cross to put our sins to death with Him so that, by biblical faith in the Lord Jesus we will now deny self, die to sin, and follow our Lord in walks of surrender to Him in obedience to His commands in holy living – by His grace and in His power at work within those of us of genuine biblical faith in Christ.

[Matthew7:21-23; Luke9:23-26; Romans6:1-23; Titus2:11-14; 1John 1-3]

But “the grace of God” which is of human origin, and not of God, is teaching the people that all they have to do is to make some kind of acknowledgment of Jesus Christ and of who He is and of what He did in putting our sins to death with Him, and via His resurrection from the dead, and now they are God’s children, forgiven all their sins, and now heaven is their eternal destiny, but regardless of how they live. And they call the biblical gospel message “works salvation,” and they persuade the people to reject it.

God’s Messengers

So the Lord is getting the truth of His gospel message out there for people to hear it. I know He called me 22 years ago to write down what I was learning during my times in His Word each day, and that I was to post these writings on the internet, so that is what I have been doing these past 22 years. Now, at first, a lot of what He was showing me was Him teaching me things I did not know. And I had to relearn some things I had learned wrongly. And I had a lot to learn, and I am still learning. But the gospel is the Main Thing here.

For, if what we believe as the gospel is the lie, and not the truth, we will not have salvation from sin and we will not have eternal life with God. But if we are to learn what the truth is, as opposed to the lie, we need to be students of the Scriptures who are studying them in their correct biblical context and who are obeying the Word of God. For so many lies are being spread via Scriptures taken out of context which are then being misinterpreted and accepted by those who are followers of humans and not followers of God.

The Gospel

But Jesus Christ taught that to come to Him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) Him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to His commands, in His power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in Him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10,15,21; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:1-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

So, reject the lies, obey the truth, turn away from your sins, and now obey God and His commands in the power of God, in life practice, by God’s grace.

It Is Well with My Soul

Lyrics by H. G. Spafford, 1873
Music by Philip P. Bliss, 1876

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well; it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed his own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul,
It is well; it is well with my soul.
