“Look on my affliction and deliver me,for I do not forget your law.Plead my cause and redeem me;give me life according to your promise!Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.Great is your mercy, O Lord;give me life according to your rules. Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, but I do not … Continue reading Plead My Cause and Redeem Me
Bible Studies
For the past year the Lord has been having me write chronological studies of books of the New Testament. And I have been keeping those in collections on my computer by books of the Bible. My husband has encouraged me to create a new category and subcategories for those who might want to read these particular studies by book. Each one is from my personal devotions and they may not cover every verse or every chapter, and they might be in reverse order by chapter since that is the order in which they were posted, i.e. the last will appear first. This is a work in progress, so this may take me a while to recategorize and retag each post. I hope and pray this is beneficial to you.
Be the Salt and Light
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet." (Matthew 5:13 ESV) Salt is used for seasoning and for preserving food. And to season is to flavor, … Continue reading Be the Salt and Light
Whom Will You Serve?
I am reading in Joshua 24 (Old Testament) some of the history of the physical nation of Israel, the Jews, how God led them and provided for them and protected them and fought for them over many years. And now those who survived the time in wilderness, and the battles which followed, were in the … Continue reading Whom Will You Serve?
I Hope in God’s Words
“With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O Lord!I will keep your statutes.I call to you; save me,that I may observe your testimonies.I rise before dawn and cry for help;I hope in your words. My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.Hear my voice according to your … Continue reading I Hope in God’s Words
Having Itching Ears
“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people … Continue reading Having Itching Ears
Having the Appearance of Godliness
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and … Continue reading Having the Appearance of Godliness
Holding Faith and a Good Conscience
“This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to … Continue reading Holding Faith and a Good Conscience
Full of Excuses
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly … Continue reading Full of Excuses
God is Not Mocked
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing … Continue reading God is Not Mocked
What’s Contrary to Sound Doctrine
“Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men … Continue reading What’s Contrary to Sound Doctrine
