Psalm 62:1-2 NASB My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. In this life, we will have troubles. Hurricanes may plow through our cities and cause massive destruction. Massive flooding may cause the ruin … Continue reading My Source of Strength

A Storming Heart
Proverbs 19:1-3 NASB Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity Than he who is perverse in speech and is a fool. Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries his footsteps errs. The foolishness of man ruins his way, And his heart rages against … Continue reading A Storming Heart

As followers of Jesus Christ, we read the Bible, not just for intellectual enlightenment, and not just as a history book or as a book of poetry, or as part of an English Literature Class. We read the Bible (Genesis to Revelation) because we believe it to be the Word of God. Therefore, we read … Continue reading Set Free!
Our Security
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; He sets up walls and ramparts for security. “Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful. “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. … Continue reading Our Security

What Holds Your Heart Captive?
Donna, on "Meeting Jesus," shares with us the history of the physical nation of Israel, and of their times of spiritual decline, but of God's grace to them, too, when they repented of their sins and turned back to him. And, then she relates that to us today, and how we need to take these … Continue reading What Holds Your Heart Captive?
Cause for Much Praise!

We Are an Offense
Proverbs 29:1-3 NASB A man who hardens his neck after much reproof Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy. When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan. A man who loves wisdom makes his father glad, But he who keeps company with harlots wastes his wealth. The Stiff-Necked There … Continue reading We Are an Offense
His Benefits Bestowed
Can you imagine with me what it would be like to physically be in Jesus’ presence, and to be able to sit down with him on a mountain, and to listen to him teach us his truths? Think with me for a moment what it would be like to gaze up at his face and … Continue reading His Benefits Bestowed
Winds of adversity.
This is such a timely message. Beehopper, inspired by the Holy Spirit, I believe, shared from her heart about the subject of adversity and of our need to remain steadfast in faith, for troubled times are fast approaching.
Someone once asked me if I followed the first commandment before I followed the second commandment.
“It is the greatest commandment and the only one to live by,” she reminded me. “People sometimes think that the second one is the greatest and skip the first. But the second cannot be completed without the first.”
Then she quoted Mark 12:30:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Matthew 22:38 continues to say, “This is the first and the greatest commandment.” (NIV)
That word of wisdom stayed on my mind. I thought about it quit a lot. It boils down to loving the Lord with ALL that I am and in EVERY situation.
Wow, that is intense! It makes sense that it should be the first commandment. How can a person fulfill the second commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” if they cannot understand the first. It is…
