by Robert Robinson / John Wyeth
Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount – I’m fixed upon it –
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Hitherto Thy love has blessed me
Thou has brought me to this place
And I know Thy hand will bring me
Safely home by Thy good grace
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Bought me with His precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.
I found this hymn about 2 years ago. It’s so beautiful. Thanks for sharing

You are welcome. Yes, it is beautiful. I grew up singing the hymns, not only in church, but at home. As kids, we would sit out on the porch with the hymn books and sing through the ones we knew. My mom played the piano and both my parents sang. Whenever Rick and I and our kids would visit my parents, my family would gather around the piano while my mom played and sang the hymns and we sang, too. So, the hymns have always had a special place in my life and in my heart.

What a lovely memory to share! Growing up I can’t really say I loved hymns. I used to see it as something for old people. However the older I get, the more I begin to see and understand the power behind those lyrics. Now I can say I love hymn. Many of them are deep and you can tell the lyrics came from a sincere place. Thanks for sharing these beautiful hymns with us❤️
