Hymn lyrics by Fanny J. Crosby, 1890
Music by William Kirkpatrick, 1890
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
He taketh my burden away;
He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved,
He giveth me strength as my day.
With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,
And filled with His fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God
For such a Redeemer as mine!
When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise
To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love
I’ll shout with the millions on high.
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life with the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.

The last time I sang this hymn was about 4 years ago. Recently the song came to my spirit. I was hearing it in my spirit…. I forgot the title and I forgot the tune… But I could hear it in my spirit… Each morning I will plan to look for it but things crowded my desire and I will forget again… As I saw it on your blog, my heart leap for joy… You have found ‘my song’… The Holy Spirit lead you to find what I have lost… That makes us true sisters in Christ…God bless you and your ministry of turning trash into treasures!

Fanny Crosby wrote so many wonderful hymns. This is one of my favorites because it reminds me that God is always close and faithful.
