God’s love to me, it did impart
His written Word, right from the start.
From infanthood I heard His Word.
From birth on up His Word I heard.
In Sunday School, Church service, too,
And Wednesday nights, His Word was due.
In Bible studies, backyard clubs,
No Bible lessons did we snub.
In Youth group and in Pioneer Girls,
And Youth for Christ, His Word made clear.
And Bible quizzing, memorized
His Word by letter, not deny.
In college, in I. V. C. F.,
We learned the Scriptures, they our Ref.
At Beulah Beach, our Christian camp,
We heard His Word, God’s Word, our Lamp.
Then on to teaching, teach His Word,
The gospel message, Word I heard.
For fifty years He’s had me teach
The truth He taught me, folks to reach.
All glory to my God and Lord,
For His hand on my life outpoured.
His grace to me goes way beyond
What I deserve. I stand in awe.

Valerie, thank you. The Lord led me to write this describing my times in the Word from birth to now, at age 76. The poem describes many of the ways in which I heard his Word, was taught it, and then to where he had me to teach it to others. All glory to God.
