My eyes aren't doing well today. My left eye feels like it has sand in it. My husband has been putting drops in them, and I have been resting them, with no improvement. Could use your prayers. Thanks. Update 5/23/2020: Thank you all for your prayers. I am doing better today. Praise Jesus!

When I Was Twenty-One
The poem that follows is one that I wrote at the age of twenty-one. Now, I am seventy, so a lot has changed in my life since that time. And, a lot has changed in the world, too. For, we didn’t have computers or the internet or cell phones or any way of communicating with … Continue reading When I Was Twenty-One
Chap 6: All for Good
"Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16 ESV
What God Said to Me At…
In the year 2004, my husband and I were church planters. He was going for his ordination, and I was going for my consecration with the C&MA (Christian & Missionary Alliance). In September of that year, we were both to attend our district’s Prayer Conference, I believe it was called. All who were pastors or … Continue reading What God Said to Me At…
Before and After Tag
Tuesday, March 3, 2020 Amy kind of “tagged” me for this “Before and After Tag.” She said, “Are you going to do this tag? It would be cool to read your answers.” I said, “Was I tagged in it? If I was, I missed it somehow.” Then, I realized it was open to anyone. It … Continue reading Before and After Tag

My next to oldest brother died this past November at the age of 71. … Continue reading Contemplating Death
A Person of Faith
Have you ever said, "That man (or that woman) is a person of faith"? If so, what did you mean by that? How would you define or describe a person of faith? What did or does that look like to you? What criteria do you use to determine if someone is or is not a … Continue reading A Person of Faith
Freedom from Fear
March 1982 Reaching out and finding no one there, I ran and hid myself, I know not where. Fear had gripped my heart; I know not why. I had the feeling as though I wanted to cry. I talked, but no one listened. I cried, but no one cared. I called, but no one answered. … Continue reading Freedom from Fear
Lost Opportunities
The Lord brought this old poem back to mind this morning. I wrote this in 1984 when I was 34 years old. We lived in Raleigh, NC, at the time. Spring 1984 Lost opportunities to share His love, To touch a life, to show you care, Touch a hand, help mend a heart Broken down … Continue reading Lost Opportunities
The Church in Persecution
1 Corinthians 12 ESV (the whole chapter) For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, … Continue reading The Church in Persecution
